Between Bombardment and Famine: Gaza on the Brink of Total Collapse

International Interests | 13-08-2025

Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip show no sign of stopping, with waves of violence escalating day by day, leaving behind massive destruction and heavy civilian casualties.

Hospitals across the Strip are overwhelmed with the wounded and the dead around the clock, while ambulance crews struggle to reach victims trapped under the rubble amid a severe shortage of medical and food supplies.

The grim statistics reflect the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe engulfing residents, who find themselves trapped between relentless bombardment and an acute food crisis—deepening their suffering and threatening the lives of future generations.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the arrival of 100 martyrs, including one recovered from the rubble, in addition to 388 new injuries over the past 48 hours.

Despite the intensive efforts of ambulance and civil defense teams, many victims remain under the debris of destroyed buildings and in the streets, where rescue teams are still unable to reach them.

The ongoing Israeli assault, which began in early October 2023, continues to worsen the humanitarian crisis. The death toll has risen to 61,599, while the number of injuries has reached 154,088.

From March 18, 2025, to date, 10,078 martyrs and 42,047 injuries have been recorded—reflecting the escalating pace of violence and destruction.

In the context of the “Martyrs of Livelihood” tragedy, hospitals reported over the past 48 hours the arrival of 100 martyrs and 513 injuries among civilians who were killed or injured while trying to obtain aid, bringing the total in this category to 1,838 martyrs and more than 13,409 injuries since the beginning of the Israeli assault.

Hospitals in Gaza have also recorded seven deaths over the past two days due to famine and malnutrition, including two children, bringing the total number of deaths from these causes to 225—among them 103 children—amid worsening humanitarian conditions and a severe shortage of food and medical supplies.

These figures highlight the tragic humanitarian reality faced by the people of Gaza under ongoing siege and assault, underscoring the urgent need for immediate international action to end the violations and provide rapid humanitarian assistance.
