In the early hours of Friday, U.S. warplanes launched intense airstrikes on residential and vital areas in various Yemeni provinces, resulting in massive destruction of infrastructure and civilian properties. The attacks have sparked local outrage over the escalating U.S. military aggression, which blatantly disregards fundamental principles of international law.
In Sana'a, the airstrikes targeted Sana'a International Airport with two powerful strikes, followed by scattered raids on Tahrir Square in central Sana'a, Al-Sittin Street in the west, and Haziz in the south. The attacks caused injuries among civilians due to missile shrapnel, while homes and properties suffered extensive damage. The explosions also triggered panic among children and women.
In Saada, local sources reported that U.S. airstrikes hit Al-Asaid area in Kitaf District five times and carried out two strikes on Al-Salem District, destroying farmlands and threatening farmers' livelihoods.
Additionally, three airstrikes targeted Al-Humaydat District in Al-Jawf, while three others struck Al-Luhayyah District in Hodeidah.
For over a year, Washington has continued its airstrike policy in Yemen under various pretexts, including "protecting international navigation." However, in reality, these U.S. attacks are aimed at safeguarding Israeli interests.
Citizens in Sana'a expressed their deep anger over the U.S. airstrikes, condemning them as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law.
Many voiced their frustration over the targeting of residential areas and civilian infrastructure, emphasizing that these attacks worsen their suffering and put their lives in grave danger.
They stressed that these airstrikes contradict international laws that prohibit targeting civilians, calling on the international community to urgently intervene to stop U.S. violations against the Yemeni people.
