Anam Yahya Ali Salah is a 35-year-old
Yemeni man from the Hajjah Governorate, Kohlan Al-Sharaf District. He is the
only male amongst his siblings. He is married with two children and he supports
his family, including his parents and his sisters.
He
has spent his life struggling to provide for his family. His dream was to
celebrate his graduation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, but unfortunately, he
could not complete his graduation and receive his degree due to his inability
to pay the fees.
His
ordeal began when he was arrested at Al-Falaj military checkpoint, Marib, on
September 13, 2020. He was traveling in search of livelihood after difficult
circumstances, unaware that the armed groups affiliated with the Islah Party
would arrest and detain him in the Political Security Agency prison on the
grounds of finding a photo on his phone that suggested he was coming from
Sana'a.
He
has been missing for nearly four years, and his family still knows nothing
about his fate, amid complete neglect by the armed groups affiliated with the
Islah Party in Marib.
The
Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemns these arbitrary arrests of
traveling civilians and demands that the authorities reveal the fate of the
detainees and release them as soon as possible. They also call for
accountability for those involved in these abductions, which violate international
laws and humanitarian norms.
