The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip has revealed a shocking death toll associated with the distribution centers for "U.S.-Israeli aid," which began operating on May 27, 2025. These centers have been described as "death traps" that have claimed the lives of hundreds of besieged Palestinian civilians.
According to the official statistics, a total of 516 people have been killed while attempting to obtain food from these centers, in addition to 3,799 wounded and 39 individuals reported missing, whose fate remains unknown.
The media office confirmed that all the victims were unarmed civilians—mostly women, children, and the elderly—driven by extreme hunger and urgent need to seek aid, only to be met with direct targeting or gunfire from Israeli occupation forces.
The statement described the actions of the occupation as a "systematic crime" aimed at civilians even in their most desperate moments of seeking basic sustenance. It stressed that these centers are not operated for genuine humanitarian purposes, but have instead become tools of killing, starvation, and humiliation.
The media office called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to stop these violations and hold the occupation accountable for what it termed "public executions under the guise of aid." It also demanded genuine international oversight of the mechanisms for delivering and distributing aid in the besieged enclave.
