The United States of America committed a new crime against civilians in Yemen's western province of Hodeidah on Monday evening, as part of an escalating series of attacks targeting residential areas and vital infrastructure.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health in the Sana'a-based government, the U.S. airstrike targeted the Amin Moqbel residential neighborhood in Al-Hawak District of Hodeidah City, resulting in four fatalities and 13 injuries, including women and children among the passersby. The ministry noted that the death toll is preliminary and may rise.
The strike caused extensive material damage to citizens’ homes as well as several cars and motorcycles, worsening the suffering of residents amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
In Amran province, a U.S. air raid struck the telecommunications network in the Shawabah area of Dhibin District, completely destroying the infrastructure and cutting off communication services for thousands of residents.
These attacks come at a time of growing public and international outrage over U.S. actions, which observers have described as “political and military thuggery” that lacks any legal basis and openly defies repeated international calls for an end to the war and a push for peaceful solutions, foremost among them an end to the aggression on Gaza.
