The United States has continued its intense airstrikes on Yemen.
On Monday evening, U.S. warplanes launched a series of heavy airstrikes targeting Saada province.
Local sources reported that more than 13 violent airstrikes hit areas near residential neighborhoods and civilian sites, causing significant destruction to infrastructure and endangering the lives of unarmed civilians, in clear violation of international humanitarian law.
The sources confirmed that the U.S. airstrikes targeted the outskirts of Saada city with eight raids, the Al-Sabr area in the Kitaf district with one raid, and the Cancer Treatment Center building in Saada city with more than four strikes, resulting in multiple civilian injuries.
For its part, the Insan organization for human rights and freedoms stated that the U.S. airstrikes are an extension of an unjustified military escalation policy, aimed at deepening the humanitarian suffering in Saada, which has already been enduring the consequences of a strict blockade for years.
The organization pointed out that such attacks are carried out without any regard for the sovereign borders of nations or the principles of civilian protection during armed conflicts, placing Washington under potential international legal accountability.
