Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemns in the strongest terms the brutal military aggression launched by the Israeli entity against civilian targets in the Republic of Yemen.
The targeting of vital civilian facilities, such as the power station in the Hizyaz area, the control tower and runway of Sana’a International Airport, as well as the shelling of Al-Hudaydah port and the Ras Isa oil terminal, constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and all international norms and treaties.
These acts of aggression, which have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, reflect a clear disregard for civilian lives and a deliberate targeting of facilities serving the Yemeni people.
Such actions are classified as war crimes under international law.
Insan Organization reminds all parties that the targeting of civilian objects is strictly prohibited under Article 52 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions. These attacks place their perpetrators under international criminal liability before competent courts, including the International Criminal Court.
The organization calls on the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, to take urgent action to halt this aggression and hold those responsible for these serious crimes accountable.
It emphasizes that silence on such violations constitutes complicity with the perpetrators and exacerbates the suffering of Yemeni civilians.
Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms stands in solidarity with the Yemeni people in their legitimate right to protect their sovereignty and territory. It demands accountability for the Israeli entity's continuous violations of human rights and international laws.
