Al-Mahwit Governorate's Milhan District in Yemen is experiencing a tragic disaster as heavy rains continue to pour over the region. The devastating floods have resulted in the deaths of 33 citizens, including women and children, whose bodies have been found so far, while several others remain missing. The floods have also completely destroyed 28 homes, damaged 200 others, swept away several farms, and five cars, with the losses in the afflicted area continuing to rise.
Additionally, significant damage and loss of life have occurred in some areas of Al-Hudaydah and Hajjah governorates due to the ongoing heavy rains and destructive floods.
The "Insan" Organization for Rights and Freedoms has declared its full solidarity with the residents of Milhan District in Al-Mahwit and the affected areas in Hajjah and Al-Hudaydah. The organization calls on all concerned official and non-official bodies to provide relief to the residents of the affected areas by all possible means and to work on compensating them through responding to their appeals and alleviating their suffering.
