The Cancer Control Fund has confirmed that the U.S. aggression targeted the Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Cancer Hospital building in Saada Governorate. The hospital was in its final stages of construction and was set to become a vital medical facility and a major treatment center for cancer patients in Saada and the neighboring governorates.
According to a statement from the fund, the hospital represented a significant ray of hope for cancer patients in the region. It was expected to spare them the hardship of traveling to the capital, Sana'a, for treatment and help ease the burden on oncology centers in the capital and other provinces. However, the U.S. aggression insisted on depriving patients of this hope by targeting the hospital building with thirteen airstrikes—an act that reveals the true face of the United States, which claims to protect human rights while committing the most heinous crimes against nations.
Meanwhile, the Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms affirmed that the United States' deliberate destruction of Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Hospital in Saada clearly exposes to the international community the reality of the crimes being committed against the Yemeni people.
The organization noted that this crime reflects the systematic criminal approach followed by Washington in targeting humanitarian and medical facilities, further exposing its role in worsening the humanitarian and health conditions in Yemen.
Insan emphasized that this deliberate targeting of a hospital specialized in treating cancer patients constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and necessitates holding the perpetrators accountable before international courts.
