The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is worsening. The Government Media Office announced in a statement that the number of deaths due to the severe cold and frost waves has risen to 8 among the displaced whose homes were destroyed by Israeli aggression. The statement warned that this number is likely to increase given the ongoing tragic conditions faced by displaced individuals living in tents that fail to provide even the minimum level of protection.
The Government Media Office warned of the severe danger posed by continued frost waves on the displaced, asserting that the current conditions pose a real threat to their lives. The office strongly condemned the "crimes of genocide" committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians, holding it fully responsible for the deterioration of humanitarian conditions.
The statement called on the international community and humanitarian and UN organizations to urgently intervene to save civilian lives in Gaza. It also urged Arab and Islamic countries, along with donor states, to provide basic necessities for the displaced, including shelter, food, and medicine, to protect them from the harsh winter cold.
The office appealed to residents to take the necessary preventive measures to face the cold and frost waves, calling for collective efforts to assist and protect the displaced from the worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the total number of martyrs since the start of the aggression has exceeded 45,854, while the number of injured has surpassed 109,139. This comes amid the shutdown of 130 health facilities, leaving Gaza's residents facing unprecedented challenges in accessing essential healthcare.
