In a concerning move, Transitional Council forces in the city of Aden detained Dr. Basem Al-Amri, the director of "UniMax" International Hospital, along with five doctors who had arrived from Sana'a on October 25th. The doctors had traveled to Aden to obtain medical equipment for the hospital but were detained, and their belongings were confiscated without any clear explanation of the reasons for their detention or their health status. No judicial warrant was issued against them.
This action represents a blatant violation of both local and international laws, which prohibit the arrest or detention of individuals without legal justification or a judicial order.
In response to the incident, staff members of "UniMax" International Hospital demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the detained doctors, urging the Transitional Council to cease all arbitrary measures against them. The hospital staff also called on authorities in Aden to respect individuals' rights and protect them from arbitrary detention in accordance with local and international laws.
