Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms expresses its strong condemnation of the Israeli attacks on the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Isa in the Republic of Yemen, which resulted in the deaths of four civilian martyrs at the port and three engineers at the Al-Hali power station, in addition to 33 civilians injured as an initial toll. These actions represent a blatant violation of international law, including international humanitarian laws.
Targeting vital infrastructure such as ports and power stations constitutes a violation of the principles of international humanitarian law, which prohibits attacks on civilian objects. These assaults also contribute to worsening the catastrophic humanitarian situation faced by the Yemeni people and obstruct the delivery of critical humanitarian aid.
We call on the international community to take immediate action to investigate these attacks, hold the perpetrators accountable, and pressure the Israeli entity to adhere to international law, comply with international standards, and refrain from actions that could harm civilians.
We emphasize that the continuation of these attacks reveals a blatant disregard for international agreements by the Israeli entity, with clear U.S. support, which threatens peace and stability in the region.
