The Insan Rights and Freedoms Organization condemns in the strongest terms the use of Palestinian prisoners as human shields by the Israeli occupation army in Gaza and the West Bank.
Forcing prisoners to enter destroyed buildings in areas of confrontation in the Gaza Strip and carrying out a mission by force on behalf of the occupation army, or tying them to armored vehicles as happened in the city of Jenin, is a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.
Undoubtedly, these practices constitute a war crime under the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the use of civilians as human shields in armed conflicts.
We call on the international community to take a firm stand against these violations, investigate them seriously and independently, hold those responsible accountable, and pressure the Israeli occupation for the release of all Palestinian prisoners.
We demand that the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court add the crimes of human shields to the file of war crimes committed by the Israeli entity.
