The Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms condemns in the strongest terms the US-British air strikes that targeted the Reema Radio station, resulting in the destruction of the station's infrastructure, the death of two staff members, and the injury of nine others.
This attack constitutes a blatant violation of international laws and humanitarian norms, and an infringement on the freedom of the media and the press's right to fulfill its noble role in conveying the truth and amplifying the voices of the people.
We consider this an unjustified barbaric act, aimed at silencing free voices and restricting freedom of expression, which is in direct conflict with the fundamental principles of human rights and journalistic standards.
We emphasize that the protection of media institutions and ensuring the safety of journalists and media personnel is a collective responsibility of the international community in all its facets.
While we express our full solidarity with Reema Radio and its staff, we call upon the international community and human rights organizations to take a firm stance against this crime, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure it is not repeated.
